What is it:

Designed with maintenance of ceramic coated vehicles in mind, Ceramic Boost by Sams Detailing in their own words gives; An instant coat of protection utilising the latest in SiO2 technology. A spray on wash off formula that will give 2-3 months of instant protection with the most minimal of efforts!

How we Tested it:

We picked up 2x 500ml bottles of Ceramic Boost to give a wide range of scenario testing to. We have observed the product as both a wet application and applied as a spray on detailer type application to dry cars. We have used it both as a top up product for ceramic coated cars and as protection on unprotected paint. The main properties we are looking at are the hydrophobic protection offered, ease of use and durability.

We Liked:

• Great water beading/repellency properties. The water beads and sheets relentlessly instantly after application.
• Range of uses is great, can be applied to glass, trim and wheels as well as to bodywork.
• Fantastically easy to use both on a wet car or a dry car. Protection can be fully applied in 5-10 minutes.
• Good durability for type of product. We have seen over a month from it on our test vehicle and it is still very evident.
• Great as both a stand alone sealant and a top up protection.

We Didn't like:

• Use quite a lot of product to cover an average sized vehicle. Bottle is probably only good for 2-3 full applications.
• Can smear on darker paint when applied wet. Very thorough rinsing needed and we occasionally had to follow with a quick detailer.
• Would be very good to offer additional quantities. This is a trade users dream but 500ml isn't justifiable to repeatedly purchase.

Overall:

We are always looking for products like this. We are detailers primarily and ease of maintenance and fast ways of offering strong levels of protection are always going to find favour with us. Thankfully, Sams Detailing Ceramic Boost does this and does so well. We particularly like the multi surface diversity of the product and how fast it is to protect all surfaces. As a maintenance product it is a dream to use. Coated vehicles can be refreshed for a claimed 3 months with one spritz of Ceramic Boost and we have seen over a month from it going strong on an unprotected vehicle. If you are using the product on darker paints, we have had greater success using on a dry car as it can smear a little on wet application but nothing that Quick Detailer couldn't remove. For the home user at £8 for 500ml it represents a true bargain and should find itself on to your shelf immediately. For the professional user, we really hope that Sams Detailing soon offer 1L, 5L and even 25L offerings as it just isn't viable against rivals who offer trade dilutions.
