What We Say
What is it:
The Vax VPW1 Pressure washer is from Vax’s budget range, they describe it as… Blast away dirt and grime with the Vax PowerWash 1700W, designed for everyday use. Dislodging built-up dirt and grime from decking, patios, conservatories and garden furniture is easy.
How we Tested it:
We picked up one of these from Argos whilst it was on a special offer, at around £40 we thought we’d see what it was made of for a budget pressure washer! We have observed its overall performance at such tasks as well as ease of use, value for money and range of uses.
We Liked:
- Lightweight and compact making it easy to manoeuvre and store.
- Good value for money. Can regularly be picked up for less around £40 when on special offer.
- The hose is 5m in length, so a little longer than other budget pressure washers we have tested.
We Didn’t Like:
- You only get one additional lance attachment (provides extra pressure – not to be used on vehicles) and a suds bottle – so if you want addition accessories (such as patio cleaner accessories) you’ll have to fork out extra.
- When powered on and connected up but not being used it will periodically switch on for a second – I’m not sure if this is a feature or just some kind of fault, it’s nothing major and doesn’t affect the use, it’s just a bit annoying!
Overall:
Overall for a budget pressure washer it’s very good – we picked it up for just £40 which makes it a bit of a bargain. We also used to additional attached to clean a patio and found it to be very good. We’ve had this for over a year now and it’s still going strong, so we’re impressed so far! If you don’t want to spend much on a pressure washer then it’s a good choice, but if you can afford to splash out a bit more cash then there are other options such as the Bosch AQT 37-13.
