What is it:

Taken from the Obsession Wax website; After a long time in development Dynasty is finally here. Development started on this almost 18 months ago and we have made in excess of 25 blends in this time. Due to the complex nature of this blend it has taken a long time to get right.

Containing a complex blend of natural and synthetic waxes as well as high grade cosmetic oils and Nano technology.

Nano technology has been used to create a truly stunning wax, a wax that has all the benefits of a sealant but with non of the drawbacks.

How we Tested it:

Dynasty has been on a long term test with us having been picked up at Waxstock back in July but with a 6 month claimed durability we decided to really put the product through its paces and observe full durability as well as characteristics. As well as durability we looked at water repellency, ease of use and finish.

We Liked:

• Very much a premium feel to the product both in its presentation and feel during use.
• Leaves a stunning wet look gloss. We tested on a liquid yellow Megane RS and the finish was sublime.
• Goes on and off easily, slightly grabby if over applied but generally easy to work with.
• Great beading and sheeting properties.

We Didn't like:

• Quite a lot of product used as wax is quite a soft paste in structure.
• An expensive wax. Some rival products offer arguably greater value if not perhaps the overall premium package feel.
• Durability was more 3-4 months on test before some areas began to fail.

Overall

This was the first product we have used from Obsession wax and after hearing good things about the brand and the premium feel of the product we had high hopes. On opening the wax, you get the feeling of a quality product both in terms of smell and feel and presentation of the product. As you start to apply the product with it going on like butter, the premium experience remains and certainly on removal when you are left with a very impressive finish.

With more and more of a shift in the current detailing culture to coatings and sealants, its refreshing to find a wax that is both enjoyable and easy to use and rewarding in result. It's the type of product that makes you look forward to waxing your car. We just worry the high price tag may put some people off particularly with popular rival sealants and waxes coming in at 14 of the cost. If you are a wax purist but crave the sheeting of a sealant, this may be the product for you.
