What is it:

Taken from the HD Car Care website; A versatile and effective solution for upholstery cleaning, stain pre-spotter, fabric and hard surface areas. Carpets, roof linings, door cards, seats or hard surfaces our interior cleaner will tackle almost any surface and leave a pleasant fragrance which revives any interior.

How we tested it:

We recently acquired a 500ml bottle of upholstery cleaner and have used it in the detailing studio on a variety of vehicles in recent weeks. We have tried it at both stronger and weaker dilutions and both for upholstery cleaning and as a general all purpose interior cleaner. We looked at the cleaning power, range of use and ease of use.

We Liked:

• Smells great and leaves a lovely fresh scent in the car after use.
• Effective as an upholstery cleaner for carpets and seats with the added bonus that it is a very low foam cleaner which is ideal for extraction machines.
• Very good value. Our 500ml bottle has lasted us a long time, making approx. 5-6 litres of the product with us using it at various concentrations. We are sure it would do far more for those who don't need intensive cleaning.
• Makes a great air freshener too, we mixed it up at a weak dilution and just misted occasionally to headliner and seats.

We Didn't Like:

• A little chokinggets on your chest while using in enclosed areas. Fine once settled but during use can be unpleasant - common with interior products.

Overall:

Versatility and economy are two of the most important factors for interior cleaners aside from obvious cleaning ability. HD Car Care ensure that you need only one product for all purposes in the interior with it being equally able in cleaning filthy pedals as it is sensitive upholstery. At a really good price point too, the product becomes a no brainer to have on the shelf and we recommend mixing up 2 or 3 different dilutions to suit different needs. We just with the lovely smell was pleasant during use as it does get on your chest somewhat while using.
