What We Say

What is it:

A long handled wheel brush designed to reach the hard to reach areas of wheels. Envy Car care describe the product on their website as follows; Made specifically by us and to our specification. Stainless steel shaft with polyester bristles colour coded to the Envy Car Care logo. Vain? Yes we know but if you're going to produce your own brushes, you may as well make them so you like them! The bristles are tough enough to withstand vigorous cleaning but soft enough not to scratch, and the shaft is long enough to reach the deepest of wheels.

How we Tested it:

We have owned the Envy wheel brush for the past 18 months and it has been our daily use wheel brush so has seen very extensive use on a range of wheel shapes and sizes and levels of soiling. We looked at a range of factors such as the ease of use, safety to wheels, build quality and cleaning effectiveness.

We Liked:

• Tough but safe bristles and a capped head to the brush ensure you wont mark or scratch delicate wheel surfaces.
• Design of brush means you can reach right to the back of wheels easily and effectively.
• Hard wearing brush, lasted at least 2 uses per day, 6 days a week for 18 months until it recently gave up the ghost. An impressive innings.
• Bright colour means you can see just how much dirt youre removing.

We Didn't Like:

• Does miss bits/not particularly easy to get the brush into areas closer to the inner wheel and behind spokes themselves.
• Occasionally the brush will go through a spoke well enough but get stuck slightly on trying to pull back through.

Overall:

We have been very impressed with our wheel brush and have actually felt quite lost without it since it recently finally threw in the towel. The toughness of the build quality is very impressive considering it is a long and quite thin structure for the most part, particularly when you consider it was being used at least 10-12 times per week and subjected to chemicals and stress constantly. Whilst it cleans effectively enough, it isn't a stand alone answer to wheel cleaning as we found ourselves having to use smaller brushes to get in around the backs of spokes more effectively. With this in mind, it is quite an expensive brush but for the purpose of its use, also hard to beat.
