Probably one of the most bought items in the detailing world for the home user but how good is it? Autoglym themselves describe the product as follows:

Super Resin Polish is suitable for all types and colours of paint. Light scratches, swirls, stains and scuffs vanish leaving your paintwork like new. It restores gloss to dull surfaces, is simple to use and will never dry hard or become difficult to remove.

Super Resin Polish can be used on both new and old paintwork, it doesn't have to be in poor condition. A light coating will improve the condition of any vehicle.

Super Resin Polish is a legend in the world of car care and you will find a bottle on the shelf in any true car enthusiast's garage.

How we Tested it?

We have used Autoglym Super Resin many times over the years and it was actually the first car polish we used. It has been used on paintwork in great condition and paintwork in abysmal condition. We look at the finish the polish leaves, correcting or filling capabilities, dusting, ease of use and value.

We Liked:

• Very easy product to apply. Spreads easily and buffs off effortlessly from bodywork.
• No doubt about it, Super Resin leaves a lovely deep shine to the paintwork and will help to mask light swirling and marring in the paint.
• Offers small amount of protective properties. Short lived but will add a small amount of protection.
• Good value product with a litre available for around £10-12 which will last a long time.

We Didn't like:

• Avoid plastics at all cost. This product whitens trim like no other!
• Whilst the claim is that defects will vanish during use and to a degree true. This is also due to the product containing many fillers and the effect as a result will only be temporary. So you'll need to keep it topped up.

Overall:

An ever present on many a garage shelf around the country and it's easy to see why. A good price point and impressive results make a good case for Super Resin. Having said that, there are polishes out there that offer similar and greater performance. The best way to look at Super Resin polish is as a "quick shine" product rather than a correcting or restorative polish.
