What is it?

Autoglym describe the product as follows: Fast Glass is a quick spray on, wipe off cleaner for glass, mirrors, Perspex, acrylic and plastic windows. This cleaner is for use inside and out and cuts through dirt easily. Fast Glass is free from abrasives and quickly removes road grime, insect remains, tree sap, oil, grease and bird droppings. Pro Tip: Fast Glass can be used to remove polish, wax and sealants from unpainted rubber and plastic trim.

Available on the high street in multiple establishments in a convenient trigger bottle, fast glass is a readily accessible professional glass cleaner.

How we Tested it?

We have used Autoglym fast glass on a variety of vehicles for years within the detailing business. It was the first glass cleaner we used and still use it to this day when needed. We applied several sprays to interior and exterior glass and wiped over with a microfiber before buffing with a streak buster cloth from Liquid Elements (which we will soon also be reviewing). This is the equipment we use with all glass cleaners.

We Liked:

• Easy spray and immediately buff technique allows fast glass to live up to its name.
• Capable of leaving a good finish on all types of glass.
• Instantly recognisable, simple stylish packaging.
• Decent value and accessible to all on the highstreet. As always with Autoglym you get what you pay for.

We Didn't like:

• Struggles with certain degrees of soiling on glass and can go smeary on occasions, lacks the bite of rivals.
• More suited to well-maintained glass than that with heavy contamination.

Overall:

It's hard to really fault Fast Glass as it does what it's meant to, it cleans glass, fast! But in the same breath there are simply better performing glass cleaners. We think there is room in the market for a stronger cleaner from Autoglym to fill the gap between fast glass and their glass polish. Having said that, it is a good product and the price and availability will appeal as well as the trusted brand.
