What is it:

Taken from Autobrite Direct themselves; We designed Purple Velvet Shampoo to give our customers everything they could ever want in a shampoo! High concentration of up to 1500-1, luxurious suds, high gloss finish, a slick feel when washing your car, PH Neutral safe for all paint surfaces and of course the fragrance - its Juicy Fruit smell!!

How we Tested it:

We purchased Purple Velvet for use in our detailing business as we were in the market for a change from the brands that we have been using. Purple Velvet with its high dilution and high claims seemed an obvious choice. We have tested the shampoo on a variety of cars, both those with high soiling and those with high levels of paintwork protection. We looked for the ease and enjoyment of use, economy of the product and overall quality of the finish.

We Liked:

• Real high quality feel to the product, simple aesthetics of the product such as the pearl glitter effect of the product and slickness add to this.
• Excellent dilution ratio of 1500-1 makes the product good value compared to rivals.
• PH Neutral formula means its an ideal maintenance shampoo for protected cars.
• Smells fantastic. A real joy to use.
• Leaves a lovely finish on the bodywork, high gloss and slick.

We Didn't Like:

• Can be prone to leaving water marks if you go slightly over the dilution.
• Smell could do with being stronger during the wash process itself.

Overall:

A lovely shampoo with a real premium feel, we can see why Purple Velvet is one of the most popular car shampoos on sale today amongst enthusiasts. If we are being particularly picky, it's a little messy to use. Fill the cap as instructed and you will never get it back out the lid, use the dispenser and its hard to control dilution. The reality is the quality of the product during use far outweighs any negatives We always find ourselves reaching for this product when coated vehicles return to us for maintenance, both for its finish and paint safe feel to its use. Whilst we have had the product leave a couple of watermarks, this has been overcome by lessening the dilution and this isn't a significant issue. A very impressive product.
