What is it:

Largely regarded as the daddy of all drying towels and considered one of the best on the market today. Autobrite themselves describe the reaper as follows; The evil new Super Plush drying towel from Hellshine! The Reaper is a 60 x 60 super plush water absorbing soft thick pile drying towel that is safe to use on all paint surfaces. An unforgiving drying towel that eradicates the unholy water from your car or bike! The Reaper - H20 won't know what's hit it!

How we Tested it:

We decided to buy a Reaper whilst recently attending Waxstock as somehow we had managed to never use one! We assessed the towel as a standalone towel and as part of a group test primarily looking at water absorbency, overall performance, ease of use and value.

We Liked:

• Very good water absorbency, the towel could hold plentiful water and we didn't have to even consider wringing it out on test.
• Feels well built and very plush to the touch with non scratch edging.
• Well sized to give a compromise of covering large areas on flat panels but also allowing you to use the towel in smaller areas.
• Packaging design and marketing is quirky and clever.

We Didn't like:

• More so than with rivals we were slightly frustrated until the towel was pre-wetted. This definitely benefited from pre wetting.
• Slightly more expensive than rival towels.

Overall:

We can certainly see why the Reaper has a strong following. The towel performs very well and really does everything you ask of it and well. Compared to rival towels it is well sized, lovely and plush with 1000gsm and a well built product but is it slightly overpriced? We think so, though we don't see it losing any loyal users anytime soon and would certainly still consider buying it at the price as you cant really argue with its overall performance.
