What is it?

A heavy duty and fast acting all purpose cleaner designed to remove the most stubborn of dirt and grime from all vehicle surfaces. Available in both 500ml and 5 litre sizes for the trade.

How we Tested it:

We decided to give heavy dirt a real challenge to see if it lived up to its name. We were recently challenged to undertake a complete restoration on a vehicle that had been sat standing for over 2 years and covered in mould, grime, algae and bird lime. We used Heavy Dirt on the exterior surfaces and observed its cleaning power, range of uses, ease of use and safety to the paintwork.

We Liked:

• Incredible cleaning power. Cut through really tough grime with ease and left a fantastic clean surface beneath.
• Very fast acting formula. We left it on years of grim and in the time we made a coffee the cleaner had effortlessly broken down the grime.
• At £7.95 for 500ml it is a very worthwhile product to have on the shelf for those situations when general cleaning fails.
• Not harsh smelling like some other all purpose cleaners.

We Didn't like:

• We found we had to use quite a lot of the product to cover panels though this could be more the trigger head on the small sample bottle.
• Left a little smearing behind on panels which required additional removal.
• Works out expensive in 5 litre form with more dilutable and highly capable rivals

Overall:

Really impressive product! In terms of first impressions from products on test, this is right up there with the best. When we saw the grime on the test vehicle we thought it was a non-starter for any product but heavy dirt managed to turn an intimidating project into a routine clean. For the home user, the product is a bargain in 500ml form but we don't foresee the 5 litre variant selling so well with products such as Clean All and G101 being very capable rivals and around £20 cheaper per 5 Litres. That said, whilst capable rivals, heavy dirt certainly has the edge in outright cleaning ability and with a PH of 9, whilst not neutral, it is certainly not harsh on sensitive coatings.
